by Anthony Ward
Those masterpieces, that,
Janus like,
Ended the most important decades of music
And defined the decades to come,
Gave birth to the cool.
Such mellifluous melodies,
Like mineral water
Filtering impurities
To become crisp and clear,
Revitalising sound
Smoothing over us
With clarity,
Making us feel kind of blue,
But in a silent way.
