Infinity of Flowers

by Nathan Ventura

My darling temptress,
continually stepping into the void,
my spontaneous, erotic,
shape shifting moment,
why am I forever taking off my clothes?
Between us is what?
Am I this hopeless parasite
lost in the grass,
my glorious host rustling nearby,
her sweet stench all about me?
All those empty spaces
and corners, those
nooks and crannies eroded
by the noses and brows
of ones I once loved
but let go would be nestled,
had I your blood on my tongue.
You’ve swept across my cranium
as one day I will be swept away
by you, your swift palms,
holding me up to see
an infinity of flowers

Salt My Love Away

by Nathan Ventura

You are better off salted
than wrapped forever
in my stinking meat,
for the regret of high school sweethearts,
like my father, and my mother,
already churns inside me;
And as I anticipate the death
of childish dreams,
entwined  in the fickle strings
that dangle between all hearts and cocks,
I grow fouler by each day’s passing;
the maggots confiding in me,
they may soon reach your flesh.
If only I could only set you away,
save you for insipid years;
for when I am through with this rotten self.
He is here now,
my savage in chains,
restless and rattling his cage,
stubborn as all hell,
like a desperate friend
never letting me be
until I give him the time of day,
salting my love away.

Crowded Loneliness

by Nathan Ventura

Hawk like sprites
full of a million whispers
come like sunbeams
through my window.
Taking off my clothes
they carry me to the bathroom
and lay me in the tub.
My eyes clouded and tired
with their glow
give in and shut.
Crawling over me
they feel my belly
not like doctors,
but more like lovers.
Inserting silver instruments
they remove that loneliness
that lives in crowded rooms
and drips off of orgies.
They heal those cuts in my mouth
never satisfied by my tongue;
they wash my tiny wounds away,
lay me in my bed,
and they wrap me in silk.
They kiss me goodnight
and leave,
having rid me
of my guilt.
