headlights whitewash a narrow road
angular silhouettes dance in a rearview
while soft Lunar noises slip through grey
i let a midnight breeze sing across my face
the melody is sharp and cool
i whistle along to the Virginia solitude
grass blades rattle in approval
six cylinders hum beyond view
i am submerged, for now, and breathing
