acid wash my soul
under a neon moon
and call me a new
man
the fools may believe
in whatever new religion
is being sponsored by
a celebrity this week
i'll be fine with my
cross, my guilt and
my regret
rinse and repeat
with a glass of
red wine
the house down the
road burned down
a few days ago
i gave the family
cash instead of
prayers
given the no
trespassing sign
i doubted they
appreciated
my generosity
of course, they don't
know my reason for
giving the money
paying off old sins is
a lonely business
