spiritless
in this modern bombardment of senses

someone preying on us
keeping our minds
off
them

the bastards
wiping their asses
with billion-dollar bills

they're getting ready
to flush us
while we watch
a kaleidoscope of false colors

or can we blink
just once
and finally see?
